Facebook Messenger now supports group calls

Facebook has introduced a new group calling feature through its messenger app. Today they have 800 million active users every month and the count is not in any one’s control. This new feature is a business strategy to monetize it with ads which is be enjoyed by competitors like Skype and Google Hangouts.

The update is rolling out over the next 24 hours; this new feature will allow you to talk to up to 50 friends at a time and it should appear on messenger as a phone icon in group chats. This option will allow you to add new participants to the call. Just to be clear this is not a video call feature as Messenger is still restricts that to 1 on 1 conversation.
