Invites have been sent to Media for the launch of Huawei upcoming device in a Launch event at Berlin on September 1 one day before IFA 2016. The IFA will be held from September 2 to September 7 at Berlin.
Initially there were rumours about the device be a variant of Huawei Mate 8, however the company has announced that it will be named as Huawei Mate 9 instead.
Rumours are that the Huawei might add Force Touch display to this new Mate 9. The Force Touch display technology is quite similar to Apple’s 3D Touch on iPhones which allows performing different functions with slight change in pressure.
As per the GSM Arena listing, new Mate 9 has a 6-inch full HD display with 1440 x 2560 pixels resolution, Hisilicon Kirin 960 octa core processor and 4GB RAM. It offers 64GB of internal storage, 256 GB expandable storage via a micro SD card, a 20 megapixel rear camera with dual-LED flash, an 8 megapixel front facing camera and a 3900 mAh Non-removable Li-Po battery. It comes with a fingerprint sensor on the back.
Price in India is expected to be 31,999 Indian Rupees (3GB/64GB) and 39,999 Indian Rupees (4GB/128GB)
The phone runs on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow operating system. The phone is 157.3 mm tall, 80.6 mm wide and 8.2 mm thin and it weighs 185 grams.
