QuadRooter Threat Leaves 900m Android Devices Vulnerable to Attack.

“Quadrooter” is the latest Android security flaw found in Android running devices. It’s a set of four vulnerabilities affecting Android devices built using Qualcomm chipsets that is said to affect over 900 million devices running Android.

In case if any one of the four vulnerabilities is exploited, an attacker can trigger privilege escalations for the purpose of gaining root access to a device this gives the attacker full access to an affected Android device, data, hardware — including its camera and microphone.

Latest smartphones in market is effected by Quadrooter

  • Google Nexus 5X / 6 / 6P,
  • HTC 10,
  • LG G5,
  • OnePlus 3,
  • Moto X (2016),
  • Samsung Galaxy S7 / S7 Edge
  • BlackBerry DTEK50

Even though Qualcomm responded pointing out that it had fixed all the flaws However the security bulletin patches three of the four flaws . The last patch is expected by the end of august. This leaves smartphone market in a dangerous position that no phone is completely secured from “Quadrooter”.
