Reliance Jio is launching feature phones with 4G VoLTE support that to at a low price of Rs 999 to Rs 1,500. After challenging the telecom giants Airtel, Vodafone etc. Now the company is all set to challenge the like of Samsung, Xiaomi, Micromax, Lava, the plan is to launch at least two phones under that category with Reliance Jio’s offers of bundled free calls and other services.
As per article published in Hindustan times the phones are expected to sport cameras both front and rear and will be powered by Spreadtrum chipsets.
The report states that Reliance Jio is ‘expectedly in talks’ with both Qualcomm and MediTek which are two of the biggest suppliers of mobile chipsets in the world.
The new strategy of Reliance is aimed to target the rural market & a means of promotion its own services including Jio Chat, JioTV, Jio Money, and much more to come.
Reliance will be disclosing about the launch of these handset in the upcoming month. Present rate of 4G VoLTE phones start at Rs 3,500. Getting a VOLTE phones in Rs 999 to Rs 1,500 range will also get those subscriber who have not switched to JIO because of their handset limited to 3G or 2G service.
